Chris Hart started the forum topic Custom fields plugin in the group
WordPress User Group: 6 months, 2 weeks agoThis is the plugin I’ve been using for my custom fields, it allows everything from text field through to file upload and a Google Maps location (not tried that one)
You still need to register boxes in your functions file but its mainly to set parameters and arguments for fields.

Chris Hart started the forum topic Menu reordering function in the group
WordPress User Group: 6 months, 2 weeks agoAdd this to your themes functions.php to change the order of your wp-admin menu, handy for switching emphasis of pages and posts amongst over things. The pages are identified by the link to that page eg Dashboard = index.php. function custom_menu_order($menu_ord) { if (!$menu_ord) return true; return array( // Menu order ‘edit.php?post_type=page’,…[Read more]

Chris Hart posted on the forum topic Help with Child pages as tabs in the group
WordPress User Group: 8 months, 1 week agoI think what your describing is how I had it first Kimb. My main issue with that method is the inability to link directly to each tab. (that I know of).

WordPress User Group: 8 months, 1 week agoI’ve changed the demo now so that the pages are separate – default behaviour – but with a tabbed style sub nav appearing on any parent or child page.
So I have no duplicate content issue, but they’re not really tabs in the strictest sense.

WordPress User Group: 8 months, 2 weeks agoYo yo. I’ve got an issue I could do with some advice on. Check out this page http://chrishart.co/demo/limecircle/solarpv/ What I want to do here is feed in child pages of the parent (In this case Solar PV) as tabs. I’ve done it currently using a custom loop. It works but its not the best solution [...]

Chris Hart posted on the forum topic The Install+go session in the group
WordPress User Group: 1 year, 5 months agoAll looks good.
I think we’ve gone over ‘must have’ plugins before, but it may be worth touching on that again. And maybe (if we have time) look at some functions stuff for things like thumbnails and post types? -

WordPress User Group: 1 year, 6 months agoOn a domain would be easiest. I’d have thought, the local version may become a bit complicated given the number of platforms.
I may have a few friends coming next month specifically for this session.

@devolute Morning Ian, don’t suppose you remember any links to the Froyo 2.2 update you mentioned for the Hero do you? Not seen one that convinces me yet. Cheers

Lots of stuff here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=512
I’ve not done it myself but I’m aware there are people out there with it working. Please don’t blame me if horrible things happen though!

WordPress User Group: 1 year, 9 months ago ago · updated 1 year, 9 months ago agoAny suggestions on parking, its been a while since I’ve been around there. Is Arundale Gate about as good as it’ll get?
-
The station car park is a little closer, but may be a little more expensive (?). It is the multistory to the left of (if you’re looking at the front doors) the Showroom.
-
Good call. Station it is then.
-
Its about £6 to park at the station – its a good secure lock up so worth the money.
As the train fare is LESS than this I will be commuting in. Also means I can have a beer

Brown St, Leadmill St and Arundel St are all close and have on-street parking that is free from 6.30pm. The multistory QPark at the station has first 30 mins free.

FREE! Horrah!

Would be great to get some debate going about concept and layout [...]

That’s a pity. Good luck with the training and the game. Hope the tackles don’t crunch where youdon’t need them to.
