    Gervase, We are pretty design agnostic at the group. All are welcome. There is a great variety of design represented within the group. The technology is pretty much the same across designs, Which actual design members go for is pretty much personal preference.

    A low tech option is to use micro switches and debounce them using a simple resitor and capacitor across the contacts. This is what I use. This method still uses 3 wires per switch.

    That is a good question, and I don’t have a ready answer. Worth discussin it with other folk at the meet-ups though to get a feel for what is too much.

    There is a bag of reject parts at the Gist Lab that Nophead donated on his last visit. Some are LM8UU and som can be adapted.     Options for 12V at enough current to run a heated bed.

    Transformer, being a high-ish current requirement and high current transfromers being expensive, best route would be a reclaimed/repurposed one.     If you need some parts turning on a lathe (extruder barrel, heat shield, acorn nut nozzles etc) I can do this as I have a mini lathe. I also have a small quantity of filament I can donate too.

    Hi Ian s’alright don’t worry about it. Hanna is collecting for the kit builders so all donations to Hanna please. They must be nearly there so a few more donations should see the start of a Kit to be built in house. Exciting stuff.
